Headshot of Fianna Davis

Fianna Davis (she/her)

Des Moines, Iowa

Roosevelt High School, 12th Grade

Fianna Davis is a high school senior living in Iowa. Even though she is located in the Midwest, she is incredibly excited to be a part of the Collision-Free Coastline Network. For her coastline stewardship project, she is focusing on an awareness and advocacy campaign to reduce light pollution in her community, educating neighbors and local buildings to turn off non-essential outdoor lights at night during peak migration seasons to prevent birds from getting disoriented. This work matters deeply to her because Iowa sits directly along the Mississippi Flyway, a major migratory highway, and millions of birds pass through urban areas every year. Ensuring they have a dark, safe sky to navigate is vital to supporting their long journey. Outside of CFCN, Fianna is a ballet dancer with 12 years of experience and serves as a 2nd year Drum Major in her school's marching band!
