Headshot of Neha Tayade

Neha Tayade (she/her)

Pune, India

Savitribai Phule Pune University, Master's of Anthropology

Neha Tayade is a Master's of Anthropology student with a Bachelor's in Zoology. Her coastline stewardship project, "Shrinking Shores, Shifting Species," focuses on the effects of excessive water extraction on migratory birds, variations in bird diversity over the years, and bird strike rates due to urbanization in Pune. She will also be conducting a workshop or awareness camp to introduce preventive measures against bird strikes. This work matters to her because urbanization and water scarcity have had an adverse effect on bird and plant diversity, and it remains an understudied topic in Pune. Outside of CFCN, Neha enjoys photography, badminton, sound recording, and recognizing animals from their sounds, and loves wildlife trails.
